The Mules head off on the Murietta Trail in the Matilija Wilderness of the Los Padres National Forest. It would be a week before I would meet up with them again. So sad that the Thomas Fire in December 2017, and the subsequent debris flows from heavy rains devastated this entire area beyond recognition.
