On a cold morning in the San Rafael Wilderness of the Los Padres National Forest, John (‘Mule’) gives us a little cooking demonstration. He’s been in the backcountry for a week, having traveled through the Mitilija and Dick Smith Wilderness areas before arriving at this spot near the Sisquoc River. I really appreciate his willingness to use my GoPro cameras to share moments like these because I envision the full-length documentary being told through his voice.
